I was born in Galway, Ireland on St. Patrick’s Day, 1985. I studied for my Bachelor’s degree in pure mathematics (mainly group theory) at the National University of Ireland, and for my PhD in computational mathematics in the Applied Modelling and Computation Group at Imperial College London. After working as a postdoc there, I won a 5-year EPSRC Early Career Research Fellowship and moved to the Mathematical Institute of the University of Oxford.
When I’m not working, I love outdoors adventure sports: hiking, scuba diving, powerboating, sailing, skydiving, paragliding, etc.
